Envirotech EVA – Thermal imaging and leak detection

back to technical >>

Leak detection is a scientific method of determining whether there are any punctures in the waterproofing. There are a few different methods to carry out leak detection including thermal imaging and “sweeping” the roof with an electronic brush. Leak detection can be used on existing older flat roofs and on new build projects. Leak detection is not generally necessary on smaller and medium sized domestic roofs but is particularly relevant in the commercial sector where roofs are being overlaid or on larger new build projects where following trades have been using the flat roof as access or as a storage platform. In a situation like refurbishment, leak detection can give the client the accurate knowledge where the roof is requiring repairs or replacement, and in the case of new build once the job has been completed a leak detection test gives the assurance that the roof is completely watertight.

Interloc work with IRT surveys to provide any leak detection requirements.
