Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is an independent product safety certification organisation that is the oldest and largest nationally recognised in the US. It tests and evaluates over 19,000 different types of product, components, materials and systems each year.

Factory Mutual Global (FM) is a leading commercial insurance company recognised and respected across the globe. FM approval certification assures customers that the product has been tested and backed by scientific research and testing is to the highest of international standards. Many global leading companies insist on an FM approved product or system because they know that its reputation is second to none.

Once the approval by UL and FM has been granted the criteria to remain approved involves follow up audits of the manufacturing facilities twice a year. The manufacturing facilities must meet the required standard in order to maintain approved status.
